The MentalFit Philosophy
MentalFit Personal Training takes a therapy-informed approach to personal training. What does that mean? Spending years working with individuals trying to overcome addiction, I am aware of the challenges people encounter making big lifestyle changes, and the emotional struggles experienced when there are setbacks. People make the decision to start exercising for many different reasons; aesthetic reasons (losing weight; gaining muscle), heatlh concerns, or as a supplemental treatment for mental health issues like anxiety and depression. Whatever the reason, there will be obstacles to creating new patterns of behavior. MentalFit Personal Training combines individual personal training with 1-on-1 coaching to teach the skills necessary to overcome the mental challenges and emotion struggles that come with change.
MentalFit Personal Training is not therapy, or a replacement for therapy; it is meant to supplement therapy.
